About NITI Internship Scheme:

Eligibility for Internship:

• student of any recognized University/Institution in India or abroad can apply.
• Undergraduate students should have completed or appeared in the second year/4th semester, securing at least 85% in the 12th class can apply.
• Graduate students, including those pursuing research/PhD, must have completed or appeared in the first year/2nd semester, with a minimum of 70% in Graduation.
• Those students who are waiting for admission to higher studies after completing Graduation/PG may also apply if they secured 70% or more marks in all years/semesters.

Application Timeline:

• Students who have completed Graduation/PG and are waiting for admission to higher studies can apply for the internship within six months of the final exam result declaration.
• For example, if the result is declared in June, the internship application can be submitted until December.

Application Process:

• Apply online only through the provided link on the NITI Aayog website.
• Application window: 1st to 10th of every month.
• Apply six months in advance, but not later than 2 months before the desired internship month.
• For example, if you want to join the internship in April 2023, apply from October 2022 to February 2023.
• The application remains valid for the chosen month.

Experience Certificate:

An internship completion certificate will be issued by the Adviser of the relevant Subject Division.

Logistics & Support:

• Interns need to bring their laptops.
• NITI Aayog will provide working space, internet facilities, and other necessary items as suitable by the concerned Heads.

Application Process:

• Apply online only on the NITI Aayog website from the 1st to the 10th of every month.
• Apply six months in advance, not later than 2 months before the desired internship month.

Selection process:

• Mention your area of interest.
• Submit only one application per financial year.
• Ineligible applications will be rejected automatically.
• The chosen candidate must present original mark sheets and a No Objection Certificate (NOC) from their college/institution upon joining.
• Heads of Verticals/Units/Divisions check applications for eligibility.
• Up to 3 interns can be selected per Vertical/Division/Unit at a time.
• The Adviser’s decision on suitability is final.
• Selected candidates may have to send a soft copy of their NOC before getting the offer letter.
• The list of chosen interns will be posted on NITI Aayog’s website.
• NITI Aayog might set criteria and limit applicants for screening.
• Heads of Verticals/Divisions/Units and OSDs/Senior Consultants/Consultants ensure interns complete agreed-upon work.
• Interns share a short report about their learning experience at the end.
• Seminars/presentations might be organized for interns by concerned Heads.

Internship Attendance Required:

• Maintain a minimum of 75% attendance during the NITI Aayog internship.
• Daily marking of In and Out time is mandatory.
• If attendance falls below 75%, no extension or experience certificate will be provided.
• Attendance records and work supervision details are handled by Heads of Verticals/Divisions/Units and OSDs/Senior Consultants/Consultants.

Scheme Review:

• NITI Aayog can review the internship scheme at any time.
• Updated schemes will be available on NITI Aayog’s website

Relaxation of Conditions:

CEO, NITI Aayog, has the authority to relax any conditions for deserving candidates.

Approval: This has been approved by the Vice Chairman of NITI Aayog.
